Billy Klapper is one of the few remaining Texas spur
making giants trained in the old school of spur making. He lived alongside
of other greats like Adolph Bayers whose work influenced Billy's to
some degree. Klapper's spurs can be sometimes found on eBay and always
sell between $1,500-$2,000! He still makes spurs and has a several year
waiting list. His spurs are appealing in their design and he has averaged
200 pieces a year-an output worthy of admiration and testimony to his
passion for crafting hand made spurs in the old school way one at a
time.
